A Real Life Case Study of

I was formerly a mortgage broker from San Diego.  After my business completely fell apart in 2007, I moved to Las Vegas and started working for another lender to put together short sales. 

A short sale is a sale where a lender agrees to accept less than the loan balance because the property is now worth less than the amount owed.  

I hated it.  Each sale would drag on for months, and I still couldn’t get decisions out of the banks.  By the time a bank said “yes,” my buyers would have given up on the deal. 

It was really frustrating.  Here I sit in the gambling capital of the world, and I can’t figure out how to make any money. 

I started playing poker in several of the local poker rooms.  My results were pretty spotty until several of the local players who always seemed to be in the poker rooms explained to me how they made money. They made their money by ganging up on unsuspecting new players. They would play a low stake friendly game with their fellow conspirators and wait for the “mark.”  The mark is the newcomer who doesn’t know what he is getting into. 

This sounded even worse than the short sale business. 

I tried some online poker but the hours were horrible. The best time to play is at night, and if you are serious about making any money in the poker rooms, you will end up playing every night.  My girlfriend didn’t care much for the hours and I didn’t either. 

I was ready to give up when I got a call from Greg Fletcher.  He had gotten my name from Martin Silverthorne.  I had forgotten that I answered a newspaper ad a while back to work on a gambling project.  I just missed getting chosen for that project, but I guess my name stayed on the list and I got a call from Greg. 

He told me about his new strategy for three card poker.  I had played the game a few times and I really liked it, but like most players I didn’t have any winning system for the game. 

I told him I would get back to him the next day.  I wanted to sleep on it.  I talked to my girlfriend late into the night.  

She finally said that I had no downside to trying this.  I hated my job and I had looked into the local poker rooms and discovered that they were basically traps set up to prey on newcomers. 

So, I decided to try it.  Greg had a complete course put together at this point and wanted me to go through the same process a new client would.  He gave me the information, and I downloaded the Power Poker Strategy course and printed out the manual and bonus books. 

I was intrigued from the first page on.  This was what I had been looking for.  I ended up studying it for an hour and a half, and by then I felt like I pretty well understood how to use it. 

I started playing practice games that night at the online casino the course recommended. Playing was really easy.  I used the Automatic Bet Selector which comes with the course and which does everything for you except click on your mouse to make each play. 

I played with $1 bets for over two hours.  I became vaguely aware that Jennie had gotten up and had been watching me.  I finally looked and saw her sitting in the dark.. 

“Does it work?” she asked. 

“Yeah, it works pretty well.  I am up over $2,000 making dollar bets.  This system is really good.” 

“You are still just practicing, aren’t you?” 

“Sure I am.  I am not crazy enough to start risking real money yet.” 

She smiled, yawned and drifted back to bed.  I hadn’t told her that I had been playing for real and that the $2,000 in winnings was real. 

I finally went to sleep, but I woke up at 5:50 and played another hour and a half.  Since it was a Saturday and Jennie didn’t work, I didn’t see her until after 9:00 a.m.   I was sitting there drinking coffee with a notepad and a bunch of numbers in front of me. 

“What are you doing?  Are you working on another short sale?” 

She seemed to have forgotten where we had left off the night before. 

“Hell no.  I am figuring out how much I can make with the poker system.” 

She wasn’t ready to talk about poker yet, not without her first cup of java. 

Later on I filled her in. 

After winning over $3,000 in my first night of online play, I was convinced.  I mean theory is one thing but I had real proof looking me in the eye.  This system was really good. 

I decided then to try the system out in a couple of my favorite casinos.  I first went to Arizona Charlie’s which has a very friendly, down-home kind of atmosphere.  I bought in for $500 and started with $5 ante bets. I played about four hours and pulled in over $4,000. 

I got home at 6:00 and brought Jennie up to date.  In less than 24 hours since I had downloaded the Power Poker course, I was up over $7,000. 

I gave it a rest for several days and worked on short sales.  By Thursday, I had had it.  I just lost another deal because the idiot I work with at one of our banks couldn’t make a decision on a really good offer for a real dog of a property, and my clients finally gave up and bought a different house. 

I thought again of how much I had enjoyed winning at three card poker and how much I really despised working with these banks whose mortgage reps were as thick as bricks. 

The decision was easy.  I wrote out my letter of resignation and handed it to my supervisor on my way out the door. 

I finished out the first week with some more three card poker and ended up making over $11,000 for the week. 

To make a long story short, I have never looked back.  I now play in local casinos two or three days a week when I feel like it. 

I play online in three different casinos, two or three times a week.  

I have now been doing this for over two months and I have never made less than $10,000 a week. 

This is by far the best poker-business strategy I have ever experienced.  As Jennie’s little sister would say, “Awesome dude.”
